Discover the Healing Power of Sound: An Interview with Certified Sound Practitioner Miranda

Updated: Oct 22

🎶 What are your Sound certifications?

  • Certified Peter Hess® Sound Massage Practitioner (2019)

  • Certified Peter Hess® Sound Relaxation Coach (2022)

  • Certified Klik® Practitioner – Sounding Communication Practitioner – Sound with Children (2022)

  • Certified Emily Hess® Sound Yoga Practitioner (2021)

🎶 How many years have you practiced as a Sound professional?

I gained my qualification as a Sound Massage Practitioner with Peter Hess Academy Australia in 2019, so I have 5 years of professional experience.

🎶 What is your specialty (if any)?

My specialty is creating a nurturing, safe, and relaxing sound space, allowing people to relax and let go—mind, body, and soul. I particularly enjoy creating guided sound relaxation journeys for groups, as well as multi-sensory sound and oil massages for individuals and couples.

The Peter Hess Method of sound massage, in its simplicity, is amazing. I also love incorporating essential oils with the sound, massaging the hands, ears, and feet. Originally designed for use with children through the Klik Practitioner training, I find it to be a nurturing massage for people of any age. It's a beautiful bridge between traditional hands-on tactile oil massage and sound massage.

🎶 Why do you love working with Sound?

Working with sound feels like my happy place and is part of my personal self-care routine.

I have such a busy mind, and I find that working with sound not only relaxes my physical body and muscles, but it has also had a profound effect on my mental health. In my quest to find ways to relieve overthinking, sound therapy just felt like a natural progression—as if I’d been doing it all my life.

Sound has been a true blessing, helping me stay more emotionally and mentally balanced while providing physical relief. To create a session, you need to be fully present, engaged, and able to hold space.

After taking some time off to have a baby, returning to sound sessions has really helped me manage my anxiety. Sound therapy has allowed me to be a more relaxed and grounded mother, partner, and friend.

I truly love what I do. I’ve had the privilege of working with wonderful clients and have seen incredible results using the Peter Hess® Method. The impact of entrainment on the body, especially through multiple sessions, and how much deeper the relaxation becomes each time, is almost unbelievable.

🎶 Favorite sound instrument/why?

That’s such a tricky question because I love all my instruments!

My bowls, gong, rainstick, and Koshi chimes resonate with the body in different ways.

In group sessions, my gong resonates a little deeper, bringing things to the surface, while my rainstick helps wash away tension and stress.

In 1:1 sessions, I love using both my large heart and belly bowls on the body simultaneously. These two bowls in sync are like magic—any stress or tension just seems to melt away.

I also love finishing with my Koshi chime, which I call my "little ray of sunshine" ☀. You can’t help but smile when you hear it; it brings a sense of playfulness and joy.
