Tuning into Healing: Irene Morgan’s Journey with Sound Therapy

Interview with Irene Morgan

1. What are your sound qualifications?

I am a certified Peter Hess® Sound Practitioner and hold the Peter Hess® Klangmassage International Training Certificate (2019) and the Peter Hess® Individual Sound Massage Masterclass (2023).

2. How many years have you practiced as a sound professional?

I have been practicing as a sound professional since 2018. I work intuitively from my heart, with love and compassion. When this intention is pure and unconditional, it brings amazing results to the individual. I see the healing process as a 'Sound Journey' that enables the individual to tune in to their body, mind, emotions, and spirit.

3. What is your specialty (if any)?

Since 2018, I have created a niche in the following areas:

  • Individualized Peter Hess® Sound Sessions for Clients with Cancer: Through carefully self-crafted techniques, I create a calming and supportive environment for my cancer clients to alleviate stress, reduce pain perception, and enhance their overall quality of life during their treatment process. These techniques have successfully alleviated many of the unpleasant side effects of chemotherapy and immunotherapy.

  • Qigong and Sound Immersion (Group Sessions) for Private and Corporate Clients, and Retreats: Yoga and Qigong have been a significant part of my life for over 30 years. It was therefore natural for me to add Qigong to my Sound Immersion sessions, where ancient wisdom meets modern wellness for a harmonious flow of vitality and peace. Together, they create a powerful duality for cultivating a deeper connection between the self and the universe, promoting healing and rejuvenation. During Sound Immersion, I use a variety of instruments to weave a collective sound experience that promotes deep relaxation, enhances group cohesion, and supports holistic well-being. Facilitating these sessions allows me to connect with my clients and share the wonders of sound on our well-being.

4. Why do you love working with sound?

There are many reasons why I love working with sound:

  • Each sound instrument is unique. The diverse range of sounds they produce encourages a sense of playfulness and discovery, helping me explore and enhance my creativity and mindfulness.

  • Playing the instruments feels like a form of meditation, bringing about a peaceful and therapeutic state of flow and harmony. Working with them allows me to continuously learn and grow, expanding my understanding of sound healing and its effects.

  • The immersive sounds facilitate a deeper connection with my clients. The different frequencies and vibrations bring deep relaxation, emotional release, and inner healing. Working with sound is incredibly fulfilling, making each session a cherished experience for both my clients and me.

5. Favorite sound instrument and why?

Choosing a favorite instrument is challenging as I have accumulated many over the years. Each instrument plays a unique role in creating mesmerizing frequencies and vibrations.

My Chau Gong is at the top of the list. Each time I activate my gong, I fall in love with it! Its deep, resonant tones create a powerful, immersive sound and vibrational experience that fills my healing room. Its vibrations evoke a sense of grounding and presence, helping me connect with the moment more fully. Each activation produces a unique cascade of harmonics, making every session a new and exciting auditory adventure for my clients. I have named my Chau Gong “Ancient Awakening” because it embodies a deep, timeless energy and a sense of profound transformation. It evokes a connection with ancient wisdom, awakening something deep within the listener and initiating a journey of self-discovery and renewal.

I also love my Heart Bowl for its gentle, soothing tones that resonate deeply, creating a sense of inner calm and emotional balance. Its delicate vibrations feel like a comforting embrace, helping me connect with my heart's true essence. Each time I play it, the harmonious sounds inspire a meditative state, allowing for deep reflection and peace. The way it responds to my touch enhances the overall sensory experience, making every encounter feel personal and intimate. Using the Heart Bowl brings a profound sense of joy and fulfillment, enriching my practice and nurturing my well-being.
